Decide what the legacy is for
Choose whether the persona should preserve family stories, explain professional knowledge, answer questions from a curated archive, or simply organize memories. A narrow purpose reduces confusing or unsupported replies.
Separate originals from generated text
Recordings, documents, direct quotations, family annotations, and AI-generated interpretation should remain distinguishable. Provenance helps people understand what came from the person and what the model created.
Name an owner and access rules
Specify who can review sources, invite others, correct mistakes, revoke access, and delete the persona. Legacy access should not become public by accident.
Plan for change and deletion
Consent, family circumstances, and product providers can change. A responsible plan includes export, successor control, an off switch, and a clear deletion path.
