Upload and processing
The service receives the file, identifies its format, and may parse participants, timestamps, and message text. Secure transfer is only one part of privacy; the service must also explain storage and access.
Profile and memory creation
Some systems store the full source, while others extract summaries, speaking patterns, or individual memories. Users should know whether deleting the original also deletes derived information.
Model and analytics boundaries
The policy should identify model providers, subprocessors, training or improvement use, human review, safety logging, and whether sensitive content is sent to analytics or advertising systems.
Retention, export, and deletion
Look for direct controls, a defined retention schedule, backup handling, account deletion timing, and a way to export both original inputs and derived memories. Vague promises are not a substitute for operational details.
